Myriam has been begging Jeremy to let her get her ears pierced for oh, about 6 months now, and everytime she asks he says no...well yesterday he said yes! So off we went to Claire's before daddy could change his mind. While we were there both, yes BOTH, Myriam and Jovie got their ears pierced. When Myriam had run over to our friend (we were eating lunch at Mongolian BBQ) screaming "DADDY SAID I CAN GET MY EARS PIERCED" after that she commenced on telling us that she wanted pink stones with gold. Being the mom, I was freaking out thinking they would cry for like 1 hour after it was all done. Well, man did my kids show me that they can be very brave. Jovie cried for like a minute in between each ear, but she stopped crying the instant the lady gave her a sucker. Myriam kept saying she would be brave from the beginning, because Jeremy did tell her it would hurt, and she was VERY good about it. She just whimpered a bit when they did her first ear, but was very good about it! SO THANKS GIRLS FOR PROVING MOMMY WRONG!!!

Alright in this tag I am supposed to say 10 random things about myself, I am not sure If I have 10 random things about myself but I am always up for a challenge so here they are.

So Many Firsts

It is unbelievable. I have experienced so many firsts in my life, especially with the church. But this is the first time in my life where I have ever experienced the death of a Prophet (when I remember and comprehend it). I am deeply saddened by the loss of this great man, Gordon B. Hinckley. Although I never got the opportunity to meet him, you couldn't help but learn to love this cute old man. I will miss him and hearing his wonderful talks during conferences. The one thing that brings me solace is to know that he is now with Marjorie and they are dancing and running around and enjoying being together once again. I LOVE YOU GORDON B. HINCKLEY! GOD BE WITH YOU UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN.

Hey all...here's some more news...I have been working at CCSi, where I'm taking reservations for taxis for california (long beach area), charlotte, and nashville areas. I work there 4 days a week at night when the girls are sleeping. I like it, it's fun, i get to talk to a lot of fun people. Jovie is talking a whole lot more!! Myriam has since then tested for her yellow belt in karate, and is now a yellow belt!!! go myriam!!!

Portuguese, friends, and games

Yes, all, I know. I don't speak portuguese, or at least fluenty. But through one of our friends, who happens to work with Jeremy, I have met an amazing Brazilian girl, named Paloma. Paloma is engaged to Jason, the guy who works with Jeremy. Paloma and I have become good friends very fast, although, poor Jason, gets stuck in between us sometimes, and has to translate for us. Especially when Paloma's friend Regina, gets in on the conversation. But tonight, Paloma asked me if I would come to her sealing. Let me tell you I am very honored to be invited, but, alas, I need to get my recommend renewed. So therefore I have a renewed sense of determination, to get working on the tithing issue. She really wants me there, and I am happy to go, but I need to get things straight first. But I have some time, because, since she lives in Brazil, Jason has to get her a fiance visa, which will take at least 4 to 6 months. So I have time...but anyways, last night (and tonight) both Thomas and Jason came over (last night so did Pete) and we played games. It was soo fun. Last night Pete brought over a Donkey Kong game with the bongos, and we played, man did we laugh so hard. It was fun. Then tonight we played risk. The game nights can only get better from here on out. It will be fun to get to know Jason better, and to become better friends, and to be able to have some adult communication instead of little kid conversations. So there's lots going on now. I just started school and I'm registered and attending 12 credits. I have Chemistry 1010, Introduction to Criminal Justice, Criminal Law, and Law of Evidence. I'm loving all of my classes so far, except chemistry because yeah, it's chemistry. The girls are good...growing like weeds...thats all. here's some more recent pictures

So tonight we went to the fair. Jeremy, Myriam, Jovie, our neighbor, Shaylee, and I. It was a blast. We went and saw the animals, goats, sheepies, horses, and much more!!! It was awesome...we went on tons of rides...ok, not tons like 4. We all went on the carousel, Shaylee and Myriam went on a little kid roller coaster, and then myriam, shaylee, and i went on the spinning gyromaster. it was awesome. We have tons of pictures. Jovie absolutely loved the animals. We even saw llamas!!! Go llamas!!! Jovie also loved the hay maze that they had! It was an adventure all around. It was fun, and it was nice to spend some time as a family. So here go the pictures!!!

so myriam has been 3 for about 1 month now. It's hard to believe time has flown by so quickly, the girls are getting so big! Jovie is 1 and a half, and is walking, has a bunch of teeth (after having just one for the longest time), and is starting to say a variety of words. We saw Aunt Tashia (my sister) who flew in from NY to see Grandpa Wilber. It was...umm...enjoyable, due to the conditions, as could be. I'm no longer teaching karate, I quit, and due to the fact that I'm going to be going to school full time this semester, it doesn't leave much time for teaching or anything of that nature. I have decided I want to pursue a bachelors degree in Criminal Justice, and am going to take Chemistry 1010 this next semester to see if it is remotely interesting, if it is, then I'm am considering doing the bachelors with a forensic emphasis, which I had contemplated doing while I was younger. So yes, I'm going to have my associates degree in December. I am on track to graduate!!! We hung out with one of our good friends today, Caralee Baker, and her daughter Sydney. It was completely enjoyable! I missed hanging out with her. Her daughter is a joy to see and play with, and has overcome many obstacles. We are planning on going out for lunch tomorrow, and Myriam is excited because she loves to play with Sydney. Myriam is taking karate, and is loving it...when I get pictures of her in her uniform I will post them. They are cute! But anyways gotta go...more next time!

So...JOVIE IS WALKING!!! OMG! It's insane to see this short little person walking around the house again! It's good and bad...makes me sad because she's growing up and that I will no longer have a 'baby' but I'm glad she's becoming independent. It will make it sooo much easier for her to get around! We ordered our carpet for the downstairs. It should be in soon, cross our fingers! Myriam is pretty much potty trained, minus the accidents she has every once in a while. At least it cuts down on the amount of diapers I have to change. he he.

I'm so excited. Having one year of karate experience (in my junior year of high school) and then my army training, I am qualified to get on the fast-track to be an instructor. So...therefore I didn't know this until my neighbor (and owner) approached me with the idea of me teaching for him. So...after thinking about it and talking to Jeremy, we are going for it. We're not doing it for the money or anything, but I'm doing it for personal reasons. I've been wanting to get back into karate for a while. So therefore I'm going to be starting to teach karate. It's exciting!!!

So...there's been tons going on...we're working on getting our house put back together. The homeowners insurance told us since it's an outside leak, that they don't pay for it, so thus we are back to dealing with the Homeowners Association, which isn't too bad...but still, they are being slow at approving our ideas. hehe hehe but it's driving me mad because the carpet we picked out is like the best of the best for stains and it's special order, so once they approve it and put in the order it will take another 10-16 days before it gets to The Home Depot. Oh, well life goes on. In other things I went to the doctors last month and was told I have patellofemoral syndrome. That just means that my knee cap doesn't run smoothly in the groove, it rubs and grinds, and is very painful. I went to see an orthopedic surgeon on Tuesday, and he referred me to physical therapy, and so I went on Wednesday, and have to go for 2 or 2 1/2 more weeks I think...yeah it will suck, since the copay is $25 each time I go. Thank goodness for Flexible Spending Accounts, so we will get paid back for the copay's but it's still a pain to have to pay every time I go. But since Jeremy is working late (the Navy's coming tomorrow, and they need to get something working) I'm going to take the girls to get ice cream at Blue Bunny.

There hasn't been much going on lately. Nobody really knows what's going on. They aren't sure if they are going to have to dig up the asphalt behind our car port. We shall see...I have some new pictures, but I haven't put them on my computer yet so I can't put them up. But the girls are getting bigger. It's hard to believe that Myriam is almost 3. We are in the process of planning her birthday party. I think we want to take some of her friends to Fiesta Fun Center and go on the bumper boats. There will be like 10 kids (if they are passenger's it's only $1 each, and then $5 for each driver). It will be fun. Anyways Jovie is crying so gotta get her and see whats wrong

Flooding

So as you all know by now, and those who don't know, our basement flooded. Well ok, let me define flooded. The carpet got all wet, and when you steeped on the carpet water came up, so not like flooded like inches of water or anything. Thank goodness it was just the basement, and the basement consists of the play room, the pantry, the storage cubby, and the office. Thank goodness it only made it into the playroom (we needed to dejunk anyways, and it didn't ruin anything) and the hallway. It would have been a disaster had it made it into Jeremy's office. But yeah, so we have made a lot of good friends who have since been helping us with the issue. We met Cy, the maintenance and yard guy. Lael, the friendly Plumber from Affordable Plumbing, and many other people from the complex. But oh my goodness I'm going to go insane. There isn't anything I can do to make the work go faster, since of course I can't pull the, if you don't get it done you are getting paid line since the HOA is paying for it. Now it got put to the city to fix it and you all know how much the city likes to drag it's feet. It's driving me absolutely mad. Needless to say we don't have a front yard, and it's driving me nuts!!!
